Professional Title
Assistant Professor, Foundations
I was born and raised in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. I grew up in a typical small town way manner spending my time fishing, hunting and swimming. I attended St. Olaf College and studied philosophy. When I decided to study art I transferred to the University of Minnesota and earned a BFA in sculpture. I moved to Los Angeles and earned a MFA in sculpture at the University of Southern California. I lived in Los Angeles for a decade working for museums and galleries. Since moving back to Minnesota I have been working to develop cast iron as a sculptural medium.
