College in the Schools

College in the Schools (CITS) is a concurrent enrollment program that allows high schools to offer credit-bearing college courses from partnering colleges and universities to qualified high school students. The UMD Department of English, Linguistics, and Writing Studies works with partner high school teachers to design CITS courses that align with the goals and expectations of introductory English and writing courses at UMD, including those named in the department mission statement and the UMD Liberal Education Student Learning Outcomes.
