CAHSS Technology Fund Grant Program
The Technology Advisory Committee welcomes applications for the Technology Grant Program for CAHSS students, faculty and departments. Application forms and grant descriptions can be found in the links below. Students, faculty and departments can apply for up to $3000 in grant aid toward a technology project. This grant supports technology projects that directly benefit students.
Applications will be accepted at any time during the semester. The TAC typical will review applications once per semester. Funding of this grant program comes from the CAHSS Collegiate Fees.

Examples of past projects:
Mapping the Geographies of White Supremacism in the US, 2001-08. View PDF
To present a GIS research project at a professional meeting. Project examined the spatial correlation of US white supremacist groups with census data on crime and poverty. Grant paid for travel expenses and conference registration.
Using Remote Sensing to Identify Stream Impairments. View PDF
To test whether remote sensing images can allow resource managers to identify issues that might increase erosion or negatively impact trout habitat in the Lester River Watershed. Grant paid for field inspection and remote sensing images.
Directed Research on the Glensheen Grounds Estate. View PDF
To digitize photos of Glensheen Estate, develop a virtual tour of the property, and create a brochure to give to visitors. Grant paid for an Apple Powerbook 4 and Office software.
Creating a Wind Map for North Eastern, MN. View PDF
To create a GIS wind resource map for Duluth and the North Shore. Grant paid for equipment to collect wind data, training, and research time.
