CAHSS Research Committee Grants – These grants are given to College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences faculty to support two areas: research or conference travel. Research grants are given in support of faculty research projects. Travel grants are given to support travel to conferences. Grants are awarded in the fall and spring each academic year.
CAHSS Teaching Committee Grants – These grants are given to College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences faculty to support the improvement of the quality of instruction in the college. Grants are awarded in fall and spring each academic year.
Chancellor’s Faculty Small Grant Program – UMD Chancellor Black provides these grants to tenured/tenure-track faculty and term faculty appointed at least 35% time for two semesters in support of teaching, research, or service. Grants are awarded twice a year, fall and spring.
Chancellor’s Diversity Grant Program – UMD Chancellor Black provides these grants to individuals or departments to increase faculty diversity at UMD. Grants are given in three areas: Target of Opportunity Program (TOP), faculty in residence, or utilization of technology to increase diversity. The call for proposals is usually sent out in the fall of the year.
