Auditions are open to all UMD students without regard to major. Casting decisions are made solely on the basis of selecting the performer who would best bring a role to life on the stage before an audience.

College Work-Study
College work-study is available in the Scene Shop, Costume Shop, and Marshall Center. All Theatre majors who qualify for work-study should work in the Department of Theatre.
Complimentary Ticket Policy
One complimentary ticket is available for each theatre major for each production. Please check the Box Office.
Theatre Practicum Courses
All Theatre majors are required to successfully complete the following Practicum courses:
    TH 1399 Stagecraft Practicum
    TH 1499 Costume Construction Practicum
    TH 1599 Lighting/Sound Practicum
    TH 1699 Running Crew Practicum
Additionally, all BFA Theatre Majors are required to enroll in a Theatre Practicum course each semester they are enrolled as full-time students. Please visit the Practicum Course Guide for details.
Students cast in a UMD Theatre production should enroll in either TH 1199 Acting Practicum, or TH 3199 Acting Practicum II, depending on the size of the role in which they're cast.

Students with prior experience may be eligible to enroll in TH 2399 Production Practicum II, TH 3399 Production Practicum III, TH 3699 Production Management, or TH 4399 Theatre: Special Projects. Check with your academic advisor for details.
