Alexander Korte is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish. His scholarship focuses on premodern Iberian culture and thought with an emphasis on diasporic and interfaith communities of the larger Mediterranean world. Alex’s current research explores intersecting identities of religion, race, and disability in frontier narratives of piracy, slavery, and human trafficking. In the classroom, his teaching strives to connect the skills learned in the humanities with the exigencies of an informed, global citizenry. Alex is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer. Â
