Journalism

In an ever-changing media environment, the Journalism program strives to be innovative and dynamic while adhering to a critical understanding of media’s role in a diverse, global society. Our program emphasizes community engagement and global competence. Students gain a toolbox of skills and a critical understanding of mass media.

Journalism major

The B.A. in Journalism requires students to complete a 22-credit core dedicated to the craft of journalism, critical inquiry and application. Students are then asked to select additional elective credits to enhance their areas of expertise within the major and expand on how they may apply journalism in the future. These skills are further honed through an application in a professional media setting.
