Painting II & III students "Take a Tree"

UMD painting II and III students to raise awareness about Sustainable Ely and the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters

This project entitled, Take Home Tree was organized by UMD painting II and III students to raise awareness about this debate that effects all Minnesotans and beyond. This project will have 50
miniature take home ecosystems including dirt, white pine seeds, and a worm. These containers are for anyone to take home and temporarily possess a small part of the north woods which can
be used as a catalyst for conversation regarding the conservation of the boundary waters and the health of the mining community, which is also a very important part of MN heritage. Please come
join us and take a small portion of the northwoods with you, to think about what we already have.

This project is brought to you by:

  • UMD Art and Design, Save the Boundary Waters, UMD Biology-botanical garden, Ryuta Nakajima, and painting 2 and 3 students-
  • Jackson Gonzalez, Alli Robertson, Maggie Holmes, Ryan Johnson,
  • Tony Reamer, Olivia Ridlon
