Editor's Note
Welcome to the 2022–2023 edition of Confluence: The Newsletter for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences!Â
While stories in this year’s issue center on the theme of shaping the future, it may be equally or more accurate to say that our faculty, students, alumni, and staff refuse to be satisfied. The CAHSS community continuously analyzes what the past and present have conferred and looks for junctures to enhance that offering.Â
In my sixth year as editor of this publication, I remain inspired by the ways members of CAHSS are forging ahead and promoting lifelong learning, compassion, and connection, whether through music, physical art, or language. From new courses and living learning communities to collaborations and contributions, there is much to celebrate and be optimistic about. As you read this issue, I hope you’ll consider ways you carry that momentum forward as well as opportunities for you to move past your comfort zone.Â
