Our minor introduces students to the methodologies of history and provides a firm chronological and geographical historical footing. It students historical knowledge and critical analysis skills that will distinguish them from their peers in almost any other field of study, from Business to Biology and beyond. History minors have access to all of the curricular opportunities available to our majors, including both domestic and international internships as well as study abroad courses in places to like Panama, Poland, and Jamaica.

If you’re interested exploring this possibility, please reach out to one of your UMD History professors. If you know you want to take this step, you can complete this form to declare a History Major.
