Professional Title
Assistant Professor, English Graduate Faculty

Originally from Maine, I have spent the last five years in the Midwest—my adopted home. After I received my M.F.A., I coordinated online literary programming for the University of Iowa's International Writing Program and served as a workshop moderator for their summer MOOC, How Writers Write Poetry. Since 2013, I have had the privilege to teach a variety of writing courses at UMD, from first-year writing to upper-division fiction. I am currently working with students in Honors Advanced Writing to publish Aisthesis, UMD’s annual interdisciplinary honors journal. Outside of teaching, I read for Split Rock Review, an online literary magazine, and enjoy reading and writing poems and essays.
