Portrait of Lynn Wohlwend
Professional Title
Assistant Professor

I grew up right next door in Superior but left the area at eighteen to attend college. I studied science (virology and medical genetics were favorite courses), but I ended up switching to communications after graduating. I’ve spent my life and career splitting my focus between my two loves—science and writing. In 2006, I was accepted into the New York City Teaching Fellows Program, where it was my privilege to teach high school biology for three years in Brooklyn, NY. I later decided to pursue creative writing. While earning my MFA at the University of New Mexico, I taught English Composition and creative writing. I’m excited to be back in the Northland, teaching writing once again. In my spare time, I’m a reader for Ploughshares. I enjoy writing fiction and, lately, reading about the latest endeavors of the James Webb Space Telescope.
