Stupid F##king Bird Production Selected for KCACTF Festival 55

The Department of Theatre is proud to announce the selection of “Stupid F##king Bird” to the prestigious Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Des Moines, Iowa.

An encore performance of the play to raise funds for travel to the festival will be presented on Saturday, January 14 at 7:30pm in the Marshall Performing Arts Center on UMD’s campus.

The play, which initially ran at the Marshall Center in November 2022, is described as a “sort of adaptation” of Anton Chekhov’s “The Seagull” following “a dysfunctional group of artists, lovers, and free spirits as they clumsily navigate a world riddled with grief, ego, passion, hypocrisy, and the inevitable loss of hope.”

Special thanks to the UMD Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Interim Executive Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Amy Hietapelto for additional support.
