Dr. Henry Eichman's Percussion Recruitment Tour

Dr. Henry Eichman Plans Outreach with Percussion Recruitment Tour to Potential Future Percussion Students 

UMD Music faculty member, Dr. Henry Eichman traveled to upper region MN high schools on a recruitment tour to get to know possible future percussion students for UMD's music program.

These cities included Mahtomedi, St. Francis, Elk River, Roseville, Grand Rapids, and Bemidji. This recruitment tour included an initial phase of Dr. Eichman doing several solo trips for the upcoming audition date in late March, and will be followed by the percussion ensemble trip following their concert in April. Eichman hopes to reach about 15 programs this semester!

The students experienced practice sessions, playing together with Dr. Eichman. The recruitment trip in April will include the percussion ensemble personnel, meaning 8 students and Dr. Eichman. Their goal is to visit 4-6 schools in Twin Cities area, meeting students and playing together to build confidence and engage in conversation about the programs at UMD.
