Christian Moreno Cova graduated from CAHSS in May with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies, and applied for the highly competitive 2+2 MBA Program at Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts. Earlier this month he was accepted to pursue his MBA as part of the HBS's 2+2 program for exceptional college seniors. The program consists of two to four years of professional work experience that is then followed by two years in the Harvard Business School full-time MBA Program. The program looks for innovative thinkers who have demonstrated leadership and analytical skills and desire to develop their knowledge and passion to make a difference in the world.
"I'm incredibly lucky and grateful to be a part of it", stated Moreno Cova about his excitement to be accepted into the Harvard Business School MBA Program. It's no surprise that this exceptional grad has coveted a spot within this program since he served as Senator from 2019-2020 for the School of Fine Arts, a UMD College that merged with CLA recently renamed the UMD College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Christian went on to share, "I really found a passion for arts leadership at UMD and am so glad to be continuing my educational journey at Harvard. My dream is to continue to serve my community through leadership in performing arts organizations, and I think this is a great step in that direction.”
During his college career at UMD, Moreno Cova served as pianist for UMD Department of Music's Jazz Ensemble I and Combo I for the last two years, and on the board of UMD's Tweed Museum of Art and the Big Time Jazz Orchestra in Duluth for the last year. He also interned in the Spring semester of this year with the leading performing arts non-profit SFJAZZ in San Francisco, California. Currently he's preparing for the first half of his MBA requirements by working as a Business Analyst for the consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Minneapolis.
