Seeing the “Big Picture”: Students Examine Cultural and Practical Differences in Sustainable Practices Between the United States and Germany
Dr. Dan Nolan’s (World Languages and Cultures) class GER 3407: “Sustainability in German-speaking Cultures” not only brings languages, customs, and environmental systems together; it brings people together, too.
Dr. Jennifer Brady, Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies, is the interim head of the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
Hispanic Studies/Spanish Teaching major Kendra Kvebak is one of the organizers of Connection Day.
UMD German Studies sponsors events to mark the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Mon., Sept. 11, 2017 Start-of-Semester CUE Gathering (5:30-7:30 pm, Off-campus, By invitation)
Mon., Sept. 25, 2017 CUE Professional Development Series (5:30-7 pm, Montague 206)
A WLC Spanish Professor and a CUE Student participated in a spring break delegation to Oaxaca, Mexico.
CUE professor Aparna Katre and Chinese professor Weiqing Zhang received tenure and promotion to associate professor.
WLC students and faculty share music, dance and more.
Films will be presented consecutive Mondays at Zinema Theater.
