UMD Criminology makes top 15 list

Our Criminology program is number 6 on the "Best Value Schools" 2021 list.

A degree in criminology can lead you on multiple career paths including a criminal justice degree and public service fields. Criminology is the study of criminal behavior, crime, and the interrelationships in policy, conditions in society, and law. Criminology mixes a variety of social science areas and approaches to evaluate and recognize the roots of injustice, crime, and how society responds to those issues.

The Bachelor of Arts in Criminology at the University of Minnesota Duluth concentrates on the causes of criminal behavior. Students learn about the issues, causes of crime, social control, and institutions. Many criminology graduates have careers in corrections, law enforcement, and other government positions. Students must have a 2.0 GPA, 120 credit hours, complete at least half of their upper-level courses at the university.
